Support Leader

Autism SA is a leading provider of services to individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families in Australia and is seeking to employ up to 3 Support Leaders as a part of the Community Support and Inclusion (CSI) department.

Full time and part time roles are available with negotiable hours to facilitate high quality services on existing programs in the Southern and North Eastern suburbs of Adelaide.  

The Support Leader is responsible and accountable for:

  • Providing leadership, guidance and support to Support Workers in relation to the personal conduct, processes and performance standards required to maintain a positive, respectful work culture
  • Be a point of direct contact for families, providing and obtaining relevant information to ensure quality person centred support
  • Providing direct support to clients of Autism SA
  • Working within a person-centred support framework
  • Maintaining the dignity, health, safety and welfare of the people we support

Essential:

  • Minimum Certificate III in a relevant area such as Individual Support (Disability) or similar, or completion of the first year of a University Degree in a related discipline
  • Working with people with disabilities using a person-centred approach
  • Effective management of competing priorities
  • Working with complex behaviours

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Autism Spectrum and effective strategies for support
  • Implementing Positive Behaviour Support supervising team priorities and performance standards
  • Coaching and mentoring
